My goodness, the Spring Cleanse went so very well this year! We had about two dozen folks from all over the country participating, and seven decadent souls joined me at Rehoboth Beach for a lovely weekend of great food, yoga, massage and general R&R. It went so well I'm going to offer it again this Fall, so if you're interested mark your calendars for October 15 - 17 and
drop me an email.Another big success: I've written a cookbook. It's called "Collage Cooking", and it's due out by the end of May. I'll have links on my website and in next month's newsletter.
In other news, the Environmental Working Group has put out their most current
Dirty Dozen List. It's a tidy list of those fruits and vegetables you simply must buy organic, as they retain the most pesticides. There's a companion list of those that are consistently clean, so you can save money by buying conventionally grown onions and avocado, and put those pennies saved toward organic strawberries and peaches.
Meanwhile, while you're working to minimize the toxins in the food you eat, I encourage you to take a look at the things that "feed" your soul: your relationships, your work, your physical activities of choice... are there any habits or routines there that are less than nourishing? Anything that's downright draining?
What about that friend who's always negative? That weekly volunteer position for the cause that no longer makes your heart sing? That gym membership that goes wasted every month 'cause you hate treadmills and what you really want to try is
pole dancing? It might be time to find ways to minimize or eliminate those contaminants. Go ahead, get organic in every area of your life.
And if you need some support sorting it all out, why dontcha come in for a
consultation? It's entirely possible that one conversation could change your life. And this is as good a time as any to get healthier and happier, don't you think?
Your friend,
